Message from Tsuruga Wakasanojo
(from the printed program, March 4, 2023, student recital)

Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to come to the performance today.
Every year, the Tsuruga school of shinnai holds two student recitals, an ohikizome concert near the beginning of the year, and a yukata kai in late summer.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, our concerts could sometimes be presented only on-line by video. Today’s performance is an important opportunity for shinnai students to present the results of their daily practice to a live audience.
Last year, seven shinnai students were selected to be natori. Their natori ceremony was held here at Akagi Shrine. On November 12, in a special concert held at Yotsuya Kumin Hall, the new natori will be introduced.
Everyone in today’s program, whether veteran, mid-career, or newcomer, will perform to the best of their ability. Please sit back, relax, and enjoy them all.
